Where the locals ride

Off-road

Keppoch Mountain: The Keppoch is a former ski hill that has been transformed into an amazing set of multi-use trails, including XC and downhill trails fit for new and

experienced riders alike. It’s a 15-minute drive from Antigonish and includes a heated chalet with washrooms, change rooms, and coffee. Entry fee is $5/day, or you can buy an annual pass.Keppoch Mountain on Trailforks.com

On-Road

The Cape George Loop is by far the best road ride (on pavement) in all of Antigonish County, the best place to start from is the Antigonish Heritage Museum, taking the highway 337 to your right you will start, make sure to know the weather conditions on that day as they can easily change once you reach the water’s edge. There is about 850m of altitude most of it being in the first 40km. Well worth taking your time and enjoying the view during the peak summer season when the lobster fishing boats are out searching the waters for those tasty crustaceans. The nice climb is at Ballantyne’s cove up to the lighthouse road, then you have a few more hills to follow once you pass the “cape” you start back toward Antigonish through beautiful hills (we have lots of hills enjoy the climbs) you reach Malignants cove and that’s where you turn right on the 245, Wait! not to fast just on the turn there is a little gem of a swimming hole perfectly made for cooling down. With the club, we often do this ride on weekends if you wish to join us please stop by the shop or follow join us on Facebook Highland Bike Club.
