Hey Guys & Gals,
Lets take a look back over this race season and all that we have accomplished as a collective.
First off we would like to “chapeau”(raise our hats) to every person that had a part in getting Keppoch Epic unto the gravel this year, especially JB. It was a huge success and we have had lots of positive feedback. The course was well received and if we put it simply “WE HAD A BLAST RIDING IT!!!!”Not only did we have fun, it was a great opportunity for us to showcase our local mixed terrain to great cyclists from all across the province.
Later in the season, July 10th to be exact Highland Bike Club led by “Robert the muscle Overmars” worked tirelessly to prepare a new course for our Annual XC race at Keppoch Mountain. We were oh so lucky that the rain held off just long enough to have a dry race. We are so proud of how well the race did, and how many people from all across the province turned out to enjoy our local treasure Keppoch Mountain.
We wanted to give a big shout out to all the race hosts this year across the province. We were so grateful that we were able to participate in so many of these wonderful courses because we very much enjoyed the challenges and thrills each one had to offer.
To us, the biggest accomplishment is that as a team we grew in skill and in spirit! We did have podium wins this year and would like to congratulate all who earned these positions!
We are coming up on our Fall/Winter season of races and we are so very excited to share these with you.

Matthieu Fraser is the proud new owner of Highland Bike Shop Ltd. Matthieu was born in Sherbrooke QC and moved to Antigonish Nova Scotia when he was at the ripe age of twelve. He has always prided himself on being a man of the outdoors and dabbles in all sorts of outdoor sports from running to kayaking. Cycling has always been where his heart felt the most at home.
Matthieu challenged himself in 2010 to cycle across the country from Nanaimo, British Columbia to Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Meeting many friends along the way he came home with many life lessons learned and with a hunger for adventure that will always push him towards his dreams.
Matthieu would start to work at the Highland Bike Shop not long after its inception in 2013. He would come to love his position as manager and head mechanic. He made many friendships that will last a lifetime along this journey. But the ache for adventure would soon reappear and with that the aspiration to run and own his very own Bike Shop.
This dream would become a reality with a lot of hard work, commitment, and drive.
On Friday, March 18th 2016 Matthieu Fraser would become the owner of Highland Bike Shop. With a little bit of elbow grease and a slew of good friends we were able to do some quick renovations to make an existing establishment our own.
Work hard, Bike even harder!
